Fun & Success at Glasgow Music Festival March 2018

Claire Gullan Music violin and fiddle students were high achievers this month at this years Glasgow Music Festival! The student’s hard work and practice paid off, and they were delighted with their results:
Owen took 1st place in the Violin Grade 5 section, he performed “Survivor” and had really been working on developing his vibrato recently, which did not go unnoticed by the adjudicator!
Sarah marched home with 2nd place in the Scottish Fiddle March, Strathspey & Reel section, executing the 2/4 pipe march “Jim Christie of Wick” with great style!
Six year old Coco has been learning violin for less than a year, and she performed “Musette” in the Grade 1 section. She is delighted with her Certificate of Excellence and is already enthusiastic to return to next years music competitions to meet her new music friends she met at the event!
Music competitions can be a fantastic experience for students to take part in as it gives them a goal to work towards and focus on, as well as providing an opportunity to meet lots of other children their age with similar interests. Positive all round!
